Recently I had the opportunity to video chat with my sister’s kindergarten class in Poinciana. Things sure have changed since I was in elementary school! This unique interface allowed me to virtually tour the students around my dental office. Unfortunately, many of these kids have not seen the dentist yet.

We discussed oral care including brushing twice a day, flossing, and avoiding sugary snacks and drinks. I showed them how to brush on a teeth model and I explained what happens during the dental checkup. The five-year-olds were very engaged and asked thoughtful questions like “should I be scared to go to the dentist?”. I hope I was able to ease their fears and help prevent dental problems with instruction on good diet and hygiene habits.

I’m delighted to share some of the awesome “thank you” cards they sent me!
